Halloween already???

I can't believe how quickly this summer has flown (well that probably has something to do with the fact we came back from our lovely holiday in Spain to find our house had flooded and we had to move into temporary accommodation­ but that's a whole other story)!

Anyway, our fab Halloween costumes are already selling well, especially our funky Witches costumes, which the girls seem to love! My friend's daughter bought one and she's desperate to wear it already! As well as our Spooky Witches costumes we also have Wizards, Dracula, Pumpkin Princess, Black Cats, Wolves, Owls and many more besides. A number of our Halloween Costumes start from Age 18mths onwards, including our Funky Fairy Witch outfit and cute little Monster costume, so even your tiny tots can dress up this Halloween!

Over the past year I’ve constantly been monitoring our sales and looking at the direction the business was heading in. Every month I was finding sales were up on our gorgeous Dressing Up Costumes and demand for them was getting more and more, but unfortunately the same could not be said for partyware sales.

After many sleepless nights and numerous chewed fingernails I finally made the scary decision of moving away from children’s partyware and primarily focusing the business on quality Children’s Fancy Dress Costumes & Gifts!

So here we are all fresh and new ‘The Party Genie – Children’s Fancy Dress Costumes & Gifts’ and so far, so good!

Our costumes are still proving really popular and I’m constantly adding new costumes and gifts to the site and I’m always on the look out for new products, especially ones our customers request.

I’m pleased to say we are also continuing with our fab range of Personalised Chocolate Bars and will be adding some new wrappers to the range very soon - watch this space.

Overall it’s been a pretty scary time and whether or not I have made the right decision – only time will tell…eeek!

I’m forever being asked

‘Are party bags really necessary?’

and I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s really down to each parent’s personal choice and there is no real right or wrong answer!

Some mums say to me that coming to the party is a treat in itself but I personally believe that there is no harm in giving each child a little something to take away with them, I believe it adds to the fun and makes the end of the party not so disappointing. Hello from The Party Genie!

Welcome to my very first blog...

I can’t believe I haven’t done this before, but to be honest I didn’t really understand what they were about but, having spoken to quite a few people ‘in the know’, I think I’m getting there!

Let me introduce myself, I’m Amanda and I run The Party Genie, an online children’s party shop selling all the latest children’s party supplies and gorgeous, top quality dressing up costumes. I have one son who is 5 and he is obviously chief tester of our products especially the boys dressing up costumes! He thinks he works for Party Genie too, he’s always on the look out for new products, he’s forever saying ‘we could sell this on our Party Genie mummy!’ he’s a proper little sales man, he loves helping out at any events we do.

The Party Genie has been trading for 2 years now and is continuing to grow and we are forever adding new products and party ranges to the site. So I’ll use this blog to keep you up to date with all the new party supplies, fancy dress costumes and anything else we add to the site! I’ll also let you know about anything else I think is interesting, news, events and just fun stuff!
